The Ranthambore Fort Ganesh Temple is also known as Trinetra Ganesh Temple. It is one of the oldest temples in India and is made up of red stone. The name of the stone used is Karauli. The Ranthambore Fort and the Ganesh Temple are both very popular tourist attractions. Lord Ganesha is not the only one worshipped inside the temple. His family members are also there with him.
In Hinduism, Ganesh is considered as the god of wealth, wisdom and fortune. He is also seen as a remover of obstacles in one’s path. This is the reason why the temple receives invitations and letters throughout the year. Most of these are marriage invitations and letters of wish fulfilment. Devotees send these letters to the temple with the hope that their wishes will be fulfilled.
It is not just Indian tourists who throng the temple. Plenty of foreigners also come here. Devotees come to the temple and make little pictures of houses on the temple premises. This too attracts lots of people to the temple. People make images of houses so that Lord Ganesh fulfils their wish of having or buying a house someday.
The Aarti Schedule
The Aartis inside the temple are famous and draw numerous tourists. The aartis are of different types and are done five times daily. The first aarti ceremony takes place in the morning. This aarti is known as Prabhat Arati. The next one is known as Sringar Aarti and it takes place at 9 am. The bhog or prasad is served during noon. The evening aarti is known as Sandhya aarti and is performed at 5:45 pm if it is winter and at 6 pm if it is summer. The last aarti is known as Shayan Aarti and it's done at 8 pm. The final aarti is followed by a prayer by the devotees of Lord Ganesh and the priests of the temple. The aartis are a must visit because they are a lovely sight to look at.
